Heaven on Earth - Kashmir !

"Agar firdous baroye zameen ast, hami asto, hami asto hami ast”

Picture postcards of Kashmir (clicked during my trip). No selfies or family photos here smile emoticon

Well, scenic beauty of the valley definitely makes it a much sought after tourist destination but what I find absolutely unique and charming in Srinagar is the Dal Lake and its ecosystem, the Kashmiri culture and the people. Enjoying a long Shikara ride on the calm waters of Dal is an unparalleled experience and shouldn't be missed.

During your ride on the Shikara, you meet a floating market where vendors/hawkers in their Shikaras will try to sell you artificial jewellery or souvenirs (they are not pushy and move away if you smilingly and shamelessly confess that you are broke and can't afford to buy any of the stuff they are selling), you can stop at a floating restaurant to enjoy a hot cup of 'Kahwa', you see floating vegetable garden, you can do water surfing but most importantly if you are curious enough your Shikara boatman will give you a peek into Kashmiri Culture with his stories. And so will the driver. Interacting with Kashmiri people is the best thing that I liked about the Kashmir trip !
